My name is Josh Smith.  I am a full time Marketer and part time college student.  Here is my Linkedin Profile if you’re interested.  I have been marketing online since 2003.  From 2003 to 2007 I owned an online retail operation that sold surplus office products and electronics.  I was able to purchase multiple pallet loads/truckloads of these goods and then sell them on ebay, liquidation.com, Overstock, Amazon, and private wholesalers.  I also marketed new digital postal scales, as a majority of my customers were ebay re-sellers, it was a great accompaniment.  After 4 years I sold the business in late July 2007.

I got into affiliate marketing while still working with the retail business in 2006.  I began by marketing cell phone service contracts on ebay.  I did this for a year while still working with the retail company and learning other affiliate marketing avenues.  As I started learning more about affiliate marketing I became interested in pay per lead affiliate programs.  At the time I didn’t know anything about ppc/media buys so I marketed these offers on ebay and offline methods.

When I decided to sell the business in 2007 I took the opportunity to devote myself full time to affiliate marketing.  By this time I had minimal experience in ppc marketing and tried to continue learning as much as possible about it.  In the meantime I was still making a living marketing cell phone service contracts and Dish Network Satellite Service’s via ebay and offline methods.
